Young Warriors Wrestling Association

Pastor Greg Mayo and church members Jeff Johnson and Tony Viglione, set out in 2004 to impact the lives of young men through the sport of wrestling. The Young Warriors Wrestling Association (YWWA) was created and has now grown to over 60 kids and a dozen coaches.
We believe that wrestling can be a positive alternative for young men to improve their physical health, develop wrestling skills, gain mental toughness, grow spiritually and learn the importance of teamwork.
The YWWA is a Christian based program sponsored by Cornerstone Church of Augusta. We emphasize Christian values and Biblical truths while training young men in the knowledge and skills of folk style wrestling. Our program is for boys Kindergarten through 8th grade. Registrations begin each October.
The YWWA is a member of the Central Virginia Wrestling League which includes such clubs as Buffalo Gap, Riverheads, Waynesboro, Cavaliers, Madison, Culpepper, Fluvanna, Greene and Orange. Member clubs wrestle head to head during the regular season and then end the season with a league tournament.
Men & Women's Softball Teams
Cornerstone has participated for many years in a local church softball league. Team members must regularly attend Sunday worship services in order to join a team. Softball teams are great ways to interact with church members and get to know members of other churches in the league.
