Reaching out to others with the love of Christ is central to our Christian faith. We believe the world is in need of God's love and it is our mission to take it to them.

Here's what Jesus said to his followers regarding the issue of outreach: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I'll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20, Message Bible). This mission of outreach must take place at home and abroad.

Local Outreach

People are in need all around us. From home improvements to putting food on the table, Cornerstone Church is involved in meeting needs in our communities. In addition to using our own resources, we also partner with other local ministries such as...

Life Groups are a great vehicle for outreach. As members listen for and share the needs of others they can strategize and mobilize to meet those needs. Groups have done everything from small construction projects for the handicap to special holiday outreaches for the needy.

Free Riders is a motorcylce outreach ministry of Cornerstone Church. This ministry believes in the importance of relationships and that is what drives their vision. They gather to do what they love, riding motorcylces. This is not one of those "in your face" motorcycle ministries but rather one that believes in the importance of reaching others through love, acceptance and forgiveness while being an example of Christ to others.

Global Outreach

The lifeline for our church must be connected to world missions. The good news about God's love, acceptance and forgiveness through Jesus, must be shared in every nation, among every people group and in every language. The Bible says, "God isn't late with his promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining himself on account of you, holding back the End because he doesn't want anyone lost. He's giving everyone space and time to change" (2 Peter 3:9, Message Bible). The local church must be involved in this global mission. Though we can't reach every nation, we can reach some.

At Cornerstone we're involved in global outreach in three specific ways:

  1. Giving: Each September our congregation focuses on our call to global outreach and involve ourselves in giving financially to this effort. Our missions giving is helping to support workers and ministries in many nations around the globe. Click here to see where our missions support is spreading the name of Jesus.
  2. Going: We regularly send out short-term mission teams to partner with missionaries and ministries. These teams are diverse in focus but united under the banner of telling the world about Jesus.
  3. Praying: The congregation is encouraged to pray for the nations. Missionaries are often featured during the Sunday morning worship service so the congregation can pray for their needs and the success of their efforts. Short-term team members recruit prayer partners before they leave for their mission. Life Groups may focus their prayers for global outreach as well.
